Job summary

Old Swinford Services Ltd is seeking a caring Non Residential Boarding Tutor to join our boarding and pastoral team. You will work with the Housemaster to maintain a warm, safe environment for boarders and support their academic and personal progress.

The role requires experience in residential, educational, or youth-work settings, a genuine passion for young people, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. This fixed-term contract runs until 16 July 2026 with evening and weekend duties.

• Experience in a residential, educational, or youth-work setting.
• Genuine passion for the welfare and development of children and young people.
• Genuine interest in working with young people.
• Ability to keep a cool head in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Housemaster with day-to-day boarding house operations.
• Support welfare, good conduct, and emotional wellbeing of students.
• Take responsibility as pastoral tutor for students in the house.
• Work in accordance with National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools.
• Attend meetings with parents in the House in the role of pastoral tutor.
• Assist with weekend activities programme when requested by the Deputy Head.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Headmaster or Housemaster.
