Job summary

Old Swinford Services Ltd is seeking a Cover Supervisor / Day Student Pastoral and Learning Mentor to support students across subjects and ensure a positive learning environment. The role includes day-student supervision, pastoral support, and collaboration with staff to track behaviour and attendance.

The position offers 35 hours per week during term time (Mon-Fri 8:15am to 3:45pm with a 30-minute break) and a pay rate of £13.47 per hour plus statutory holiday pay; a workplace pension through

Qualifications

• Experience in a classroom role including classroom organisation and management.
• Ability to support planning and delivery of the curriculum.
• Effective use of ICT to support learning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise work set by absent Teachers or Head of Department.
• Manage a classroom, ensuring students stay on task.
• Establish productive relationships with pupils and model high expectations.
• Promote inclusion and respond to individual needs.
• Report attendance or behaviour issues using referral procedures.
• Attend meetings and CPD as required.
• Provide pastoral support and supervision for day students.
