Service Care Solutions is working with a national, leading charity within substance misuse to fill a position for a Non Medical Prescriber (NMP).

This is a permanent role, seeking an experienced NMP to start as soon as possible.

Under the guidance of the NMP Lead, Assistant Medical Director, and Services Medical Lead, you will be part of a multidisciplinary and multi-agency team delivering recovery-oriented alcohol and drug intervention services.

Responsibilities of the Non Medical Prescriber include:

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment and care for service users.
• Clinically assess service user needs and plan appropriate clinical care.
• Diagnose and manage individual needs, integrating drug and non-drug treatments into management plans in collaboration with the Recovery Coordinator.
• Identify and assess service users' suitability for inpatient alcohol and opioid detoxification.
• Review and manage clinical treatment plans proactively.
• Prescribe and review medications for therapeutic effectiveness, adhering to evidence-based practices and protocols within scope of practice.
• Work with service users to support adherence to prescribed treatments.
• Provide information and advice on medications, including side effects and interactions.
• Prioritize health problems and intervene appropriately, seeking immediate advice from the Clinical Lead in urgent or emergency situations.
• Assess, identify, and refer patients with mental health needs.
• Assess, update, and refer service users for BBV vaccination and immunisation programs. Support health promotion strategies to encourage healthy lifestyles.

Requirements for the Non Medical Prescriber:

• Qualified pharmacist with current GPhC registration.
