Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling in Preston is hiring a Non Ferrous Buyer for an entry-level, full-time position. The role involves purchasing ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals, sorting into grades, and interacting with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with scrap metals and metal sorting.
• Customer-facing work experience preferred.
• FLT driving experience is desirable.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Follow company policy to identify and purchase ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals.
• Sort non-ferrous metals into correct grades as directed by non-ferrous manager.
• Deal with customers and members of the public following company guidelines and customer service guidelines.
• Ensure stock is sorted and weighed correctly as directed by non-ferrous manager.
• Work with batteries, catalytic converter as well as non ferrous.
• To adhere to all Health and Safety procedures.
• To keep the area you are working in clean and tidy.
• Any other duties as required.
• Travel to nationwide sites if / when required.

The Role:

We are looking to recruit a Non Ferrous Buyer with Non-Ferrous knowledge to join our established team based at our Metal Recycling Park in Preston.

What you will be doing:

• Follow company policy to identify and purchase ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals
• Sort non-ferrous metals into correct grades as directed by non-ferrous manager
