Job summary

Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust invites applications for an Ambulance Care Assistant 1 (Band 3) across Hywel Dda. You will drive non-emergency transport and support patients, typically with a colleague, and work up to 37.5 hours weekly.

There are bank positions; training includes PCS Foundation Course and Station Induction. Salary ranges from £26,813 to £27,890 per annum, with Welsh language skills desirable and a valid UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required beyond a reasonable standard of general education.
• Completion of PCS Foundation Course and Station Induction; up to 12 months on PCS Grade 1 duties.
• First Aid at Work and recertification every 3 years.
• Good geographical knowledge and map-reading ability; awareness of safety & procedures.
• Basic First Aid and Highway Code knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Drive an NEPTS ambulance or other vehicle; perform non-urgent patient journeys.
• Assist patients with varying levels of need; lift or transfer as required.
• Transport patients safely between residence and treatment centres, following procedures.
• Maintain professional conduct and complete documentation; Welsh or English considered.
