Taylor Root is partnering with a Top 50 international law firm to recruit a Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor (6+ PQE) for a 6-12 month FTC in London. The role offers hybrid or fully remote working for UK-based individuals and flexibility in work weeks (4 or 5 days).

You will join a leading Construction & Engineering practice advising on major development, infrastructure and engineering projects with autonomy and client exposure.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• 6+ years PQE in non-contentious construction.
• Experience with JCT, NEC, FIDIC and MF/1 contracts.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters.
• Drafting and negotiating construction and engineering contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, MF/1).
• Advising on development agreements, funding arrangements, and associated project documentation.

Our client, a leading Top 50 international law firm, is seeking an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor to join its highly regarded Construction & Engineering practice on a 6-12 month fixed-term contract basis.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading team advising on some of the UK’s most significant development, infrastructure and engineering projects. The role offers exceptional flexibility, with both hybrid and fully remote working arrangements available for UK-based individuals, together with the option of working either four or five days per week.

The Opportunity

You will become part of a large and well-established Construction & Engineering team recognised for its expertise across complex domestic and international projects. The practice advises an impressive client base including developers, institutional investors, major corporates, public sector bodies and leading contractors.

The team is involved in high-profile projects spanning real estate development, infrastructure, energy, logistics, healthcare, life sciences, regeneration and housing. Working alongside a highly regarded group of construction specialists, you will provide strategic and commercially focused advice on a wide range of high-value, business-critical matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters
• Drafting and negotiating construction and engineering contracts, including JCT, NEC, FIDIC and MF/1 documentation
• Advising on development agreements, funding arrangements, agreements for lease and associated project documentation
• Leading transactions and major projects with a high degree of autonomy
• Delivering pragmatic, commercial advice to a sophisticated client base
• Managing and developing key client relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple practice groups and offices

About You

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with ideally 6+ years’ PQE
• Strong non-contentious construction experience gained within a recognised construction practice
• Excellent knowledge of standard form construction contracts and associated development documentation
• Proven ability to manage complex matters independently and deliver to tight deadlines
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
• Commercially minded with excellent client relationship management abilities
• Collaborative, proactive and adaptable approach to working within a fast-paced environment
