Job summary

Vasto Legal Recruitment Ltd in London is seeking a Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer (2-7 PQE) for their market-leading construction team. The role involves advising on a broad range of documentation and working closely with the real estate team on development and property matters.

The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years PQE in non-contentious construction, UK private practice experience, and a proven ability to draft and negotiate complex construction agreements.

Qualifications

• Experience from a real estate perspective.
• Confidence drafting and negotiating appointments, collateral warranties and the main forms of JCT contract.
• UK private practice experience (essential).

Responsibilities

• Advise on negotiation of construction documentation including building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees and escrow agreements.
• Collaborate with the real estate team on construction aspects of development agreements, funding arrangements, agreements for lease and property transactions.

Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer (2-7 PQE)

We are working with a London law firm with a market-leading real estate practice on a position within their Construction team. The firm is recruiting at both Associate and Senior Associate level, ideally 2-7 PQE.

You will be advising on the negotiation of a wide range of construction documentation, including building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees and escrow agreements. Alongside the firm’s real estate team, you will also advise on the construction aspects of development agreements, funding arrangements, agreements for lease and property transactions.

The team acts for developers, contractors, consultants, funds and major institutions, as well as high net worth clients, across sectors including hotels and leisure, industrials and logistics, living and retail. The team has grown significantly in recent years and offers quality, purely non-contentious work, with close links to the firm’s construction disputes team. The role is hybrid (3 days in the office), with a 1,300 chargeable hours target and bonus potential of up to 10%.

This position is ideally suited to an individual with:

• 2-7 years PQE in non-contentious construction
• Experience from a real estate perspective
• Confidence drafting and negotiating appointments, collateral warranties and the main forms of JCT contract
