Job summary

UCB is seeking a Principal Scientist, Non-Clinical PKPD, to lead the PKPD strategy across projects from discovery to clinic. Based in the UK with hybrid arrangements, you will drive modelling efforts and collaborate with Clinical Development Sciences to translate nonclinical findings into clinical decisions.

You will represent PKPD in internal and external forums, contribute to the scientific reputation of UCB, and partner with Safety, Bioanalysis and Translational Medicine teams to optimize

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, PK/PD, systems biology or related field.
• Strong understanding of pharmacology and pharmacologic disease mechanisms.
• Expertise in PKPD methods and modelling; systems modelling advantageous.
• Experience developing non-clinical PKPD strategies from discovery to clinic.
• Experience leading in a matrix environment with stakeholders including Non-Clinical Safety, Bioanalysis, Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Medicine.
• Experience using modelling and simulation packages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the nonclinical PKPD strategy for projects.
• Communicate effectively ensuring implementation in projects.
• Translate in vitro data and in vivo nonclinical studies to prediction of efficacy and safety in patients.
• Initiate collaborations to advance drug candidates and build PKPD knowledge.
• Build PKPD models of sufficient complexity to inform hypothesis testing and decision-making.
• Represent PKPD interests and enhance scientific reputation of Non-Clinical PKPD, QCP and UCB.
• Provide input into regulatory study protocols, reports and submission documents.
