Job summary

RBW Consulting is seeking an experienced Principal Scientist to join a global biopharmaceutical organisation's quantitative sciences team. You will shape strategy for translational modelling from early research through to clinical development, applying modelling and simulation to inform key drug development decisions.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Systems Biology, Pharmacometrics, PK/PD or related field, with a proven track record in drug discovery and development, strong coding skills in

Qualifications

  • PhD in Systems Biology, Pharmacometrics, PK/PD, or related discipline.
  • Strong experience applying modelling and simulation approaches within drug discovery and development.
  • Ability to design and execute quantitative pharmacology strategies spanning research through early clinical development.
  • Experience working within complex, matrixed R&D environments.
  • Proficiency with modelling tools such as R, Monolix, Phoenix, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across scientific disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quantitative pharmacology and translational modelling strategies across a diverse project portfolio.
  • Integrate preclinical and translational data to inform decision-making and progression into clinical development.
  • Develop mechanistic and PK/PD models to evaluate hypotheses, optimise study design, and support strategic development plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across areas such as translational medicine, safety sciences, bioanalysis, and clinical development.
  • Provide scientific leadership on modelling and simulation activities both internally and through external partnerships.
  • Contribute to regulatory documentation and strategic submissions where required.

Job description

I'm currently supporting a global biopharmaceutical organisation in their search for an experienced Principal Scientist to join a highly collaborative quantitative sciences team.

This role offers the opportunity to influence project strategy from early research through to clinical development, applying translational modelling and simulation approaches to support key drug development decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead quantitative pharmacology and translational modelling strategies across a diverse project portfolio.
