Job summary

The role involves providing high-quality dementia care to elderly service users, building close teamwork with colleagues, and using modern care technology to enhance patient time with service users.

You will assess needs, administer medications, and diagnose and respond to changes in health, while maintaining documentation and adhering to CQC guidelines.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse
• Experience working in elderly care
• Knowledge of Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Commitment to continuing professional development

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health and care needs and develop care plans
• Administer medications and monitor service users' responses
• Provide nursing care including wound and palliative care
• Liaise with other healthcare professionals to coordinate personalised care
• Support service users with activities of daily living
• Provide emotional support to service users and families
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
• Follow CQC guidelines to ensure high standards of care
• Contribute to policy development and procedure implementation
• Participate in induction and ongoing training of new staff
