Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Research Intern in London to collaborate with our researchers on designing and implementing novel ideas and shipping state-of-the-art models to production. You will explore base model training, retrieval augmented generation, data and evaluation, safety, and finetuning in a dynamic AI startup.

To be eligible, you must be pursuing a PhD in ML, NLP, or a related field and be available for a full-time internship lasting 4–6 months.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in ML, NLP, AI, or related discipline.
• Strong foundation in ML/NLP research and publications is a plus.
• Experience with large-scale ML systems and evaluation pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge ML research, building and training large language models.
• Contribute to research areas like evaluation, multimodal models, optimisation.
• Disseminate results via publications, datasets, and code.
• Support product development with research outcomes.
