Job summary

The University of Liverpool invites applications for an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in General Psychiatry or General Practice. The post is a fixed-term four-year appointment with a 50/50 split between academic training and clinical duties in NHS general practice or psychiatry.

Hybrid working is supported with two days on campus (or at least 40% on campus; 60% desirable). The salary reflects 2026/27 rates (£67,998–£77,348 per annum, pro rata).

Qualifications

• Candidates must be ST4-ST6 level trainees in psychiatry or post-CCT General Practitioners.
• Must hold or be about to complete a higher research degree and show potential as a clinical academic.
• General practitioners must be on the GMC GP Register.

Responsibilities

• Academic training: spend 50% of time in academic research with a planned job plan.
• Clinical duties: work as a GP in an NHS GP practice or in mental health trusts as training progresses.
• Interviews on 7 December; appointment by 31 August 2027.
