Job summary

GBA Logistics is seeking a Night Transport Operations Co-ordinator to support the overnight transport plan at our Birchwood office in Warrington. The role combines operational coordination with direct customer interaction to ensure service levels are met and updates are provided in real time.

You will allocate drivers and vehicles, monitor live operations, and ensure compliance with driver hours and Working Time Regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transport planning, logistics operations, or a similar fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong understanding of transport compliance, driver hours legislation, and Working Time Regulations.
• Confident decision-maker with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships professionally.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in using transport management and vehicle tracking systems.
• Able to work independently on night shifts, taking ownership of operational performance.
• Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to anticipate issues and prevent service disruption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage the overnight transport plan.
• Allocate drivers, vehicles, and workloads effectively.
• Monitor live operations and resolve issues as they arise.
• Act as the overnight customer contact and provide service updates.
• Ensure compliance with driver hours, Working Time Regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct driver briefings, debriefings, audits, and initial incident investigations.
• Maintain accurate transport management system data and vehicle tracking records.
• Support drivers with operational issues such as diversions, site access problems, and breakdowns.
• Provide effective shift handovers.
