Job summary

Stobart is hiring an Assistant Transport Manager to oversee 24/7 transport operations and lead the transport team. You will support the Transport Manager, ensure costs stay within budget, and maintain vehicle readiness and regulatory compliance.

The role involves night shifts (4 on 4 off, 6pm–6am), staff development, and liaison with customers and depots to sustain service levels and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a transport/logistics team.
• Ability to manage 24/7 operations and shift patterns.
• Strong cost-control and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Depot Transport staff to meet service levels.
• Monitor maintenance costs and fuel spend against budget.
• Ensure fleet is available and compliant with regulations.
• Communicate with third-party hauliers and monitor KPI performance.
• Support continuous improvement and service initiatives with customers.
