Job summary

The Bread Factory is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead the night transport operation and oversee driver teams. You will ensure deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with transport regulations, while collaborating with planning to improve route efficiency and reduce costs.

Ideally you will have CPC qualification, strong leadership, and a track record in fast-paced logistics, with experience across multiple sites and transportation platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transport management within a fast-paced operation.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Solid understanding of transport regulations and Working Time Regulations.
• Experience supervising driver teams and performance coaching.
• Proficient IT skills with Excel and transport software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the night transport operation, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
• Monitor live transport activities and resolve issues to minimise disruption.
• Collaborate with Planning to improve route efficiency and cost control.
• Maximise vehicle availability and cost-effective use of resources.
• Manage driver attendance, welfare, and performance reviews.
• Lead both night and day shift drivers as needed and manage roaster coverage.
• Ensure compliance with Working Time Regulations and transport legislation.
• Provide coaching and development to drivers to improve performance and customer service.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly transport reports.
