Job summary

Bis Henderson is seeking an experienced Transport Co-ordinator in Wigan for a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am). The role offers a £30,000 salary and stability within a major client operation. You will help ensure the smooth running of the transport operation and act as the bridge between warehouse teams and the client.

The role requires strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating transport operations and driver schedules.
• Strong communication and liaison skills with clients and drivers.
• Proven planning and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers in line with load requirements and driver's hours
• Complete thorough driver briefings and debriefs
• Monitor all on-site haulier activity and update relevant systems
• Carry out periodic trailer checks and reporting
• Act as a key link between Warehouse and client
• Handle defects, VORs, call-outs and related transport issues
• Maintain compliance standards across all areas
