Job summary

Taskmaster Recruitment is seeking a Night Transport Clerk for a client based in Alwalton, Peterborough. The role operates 4 on/4 off from 7:00pm to 7:00am with responsibilities including driver coordination and reporting in systems.

You will be required to handover, monitor driver punctuality, manage agency drivers and maintain daily operational reports. Excel and UK geography knowledge are essential, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, transport or scheduling is required.
• Strong computer skills with Excel proficiency.
• Good knowledge of UK geography and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Complete handover verbally or via email.
• Check all drivers are on time using fleet-manager.
• Debrief paperwork as it arrives.
• Perform safety observations and gate checks.
• Print and verify truck cleaning checks.
• Calibrate temperature probes and assist VMU setup.
• Organise service trailers for VMU and manage driver allocations.
• Handle invoice administration and liaison with customers on delays.
• Update reports for Riches, General Mills, Deli France daily.
• Plan work for drivers and allocate runs on Hydra.

Night Transport Clerk

Taskmaster Recruitment are looking for a Night Transport Clerk to work for our client based at their office in Alwalton, Peterborough

Location: Alwalton, Peterborough

Shift: 4 on / 4 off, 7:00pm – 7:00am

Pay rate: £15.12 per hour

What you’ll be doing:

• Complete handover verbally / via email.
• Check all drivers are on time on fleet-manager.
• Debrief paperwork as it comes in.
• Safety observations & Gate checks (To be trained out).
• Print and visual truck cleaning checks.
• Temperature Probe calibrations.
• Help organise service trailers for VMU.
• Invoice administration.
• Liaise with customers ref any late runners / fails.
• Update Riches, General Mills, Deli France reports daily.
• GRRS + Legging (late runners, failures), completing all legs.
• Planning the work to drivers.
• Allocate drivers to runs days/nights on Hydra. Drivers/vehicles.
• Book / Manage agency drivers.
• Super Debriefs (TBC In the future).
• Aquarius (Digital data, Card Dips, Defects + job sheets).
• Completion of agency driver declaration forms + licence copies every time on shift – unless in for the week as issued process.
• Daily discussions with organising planning with planner.
• Day to day challenges from drivers

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in logistics, transport, or scheduling.
• Strong computer skills, particularly Excel.
• Good knowledge of UK geography.
• Clear and confident communication skills (written & verbal).
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask.
• Calm and professional under pressure.
• Strong teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.
