Job summary

Southdown is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for night shifts in Brighton to help adults with learning disabilities stay connected to the community and live more independently. You will stay awake 10pm–7am and assist with daily living tasks, personal care, and community access.

No prior experience is required as full training will be provided; DBS check will be arranged by Southdown. The role is permanent and part-time (20 hours per week) with benefits and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Patient, empathetic mindset.
• Willingness to complete Southdown training in health and social care, moving and handling, safeguarding, etc.
• Comfort with assisting clients with intimate/personal care.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to access community activities (beach walks, cinema, shopping, cafes).
• Assist with daily living tasks including cleaning, cooking and personal care.
• Promote independence through empowering, respectful care and build clients' confidence.
• Record observations and report changes to the Service Manager.
