Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Night Support Worker for Ball Tree Croft Care Home in Sompting, Lancing. This part-time role involves night care, up to 10-hour shifts, and requires safeguarding awareness. The salary range is £24,796–£25,185 per year full-time equivalent, with enhancements and benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma Level 2 in Care, or willingness to work towards, or equivalent qualification.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to record and document activities in the provider plans.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, First Aid, Fire procedures and Manual Handling.
• Experience of working in a care setting with people who have a disability or vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal physical and emotional care during a waking night shift.
• Listen to people and treat all with respect, kindness and dignity.
• Undertake light domestic duties to ensure cleanliness, comfort and safety (laundry, area cleaning).
• Complete regular hourly checks around the service, including wellbeing and security checks.
