Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Night Support Worker for Ball Tree Croft Care Home in Sompting. This permanent, part-time role (20 hours/week) involves waking night duties providing personal care, monitoring residents and ensuring safety throughout the night.

You will work as part of a residential team, supporting adults with learning disabilities. The post includes enhancements for weekends, Bank Holidays and night shifts, with DBS checks and safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy to record and document activities in care plans.
• Diploma Level 2 in Care or willingness to work towards (Desirable).
• Understanding of safeguarding, rights, and person-centred care.
• Experience working in a team with service users who may have disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal, physical and emotional care during waking night shifts.
• Listen to residents and treat them with respect, kindness and dignity.
• Undertake light domestic duties to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Regularly check on residents and the security of the building during the night.
