Job summary

Culina is seeking a reliable Shunter in the United Kingdom to manage trailer movements during 4ON 4OFF nights, 18:00–06:00. You must hold a valid C+E entitlement, CPC, and Tacho Card, with proven shunting experience.

In this fast-paced role you will perform safety checks, manage fridge temperatures and fuel levels, and report defects promptly. Culina offers competitive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full C+E entitlement is essential.
• In-date CPC and Tacho Card required.
• Previous shunting experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Confident shunting with Terbergs in a busy environment.
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines in pressure.
• Self-disciplined and motivated.

Responsibilities

• Place trailers to required areas as per instructions.
• Use two way radios to stay in contact with operations.
• Carry out all safety checks as designated by the company.
• Report defects, accident damage and incidents promptly.
• Ensure fridges are set to correct temperatures as per product requirements.
• Maintain fridge diesel tanks with adequate fuel at all times.
• Be professional and courteous when communicating with colleagues.
• Report any speed-limit breaches by drivers and sub-contractors to Transport.
• Keep vehicle parking area layouts tidy and report debris issues.
• Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards in your areas.
• Work in line with Health & Safety legislation.

Shift Patterns and Salary:

• 4ON 4OFF Nights, 18:00pm-06:00am - £39,177 per annum.

To ensure the timely trailer movements, on and off loading bays and where applicable to deliver a shunt load from one location to another, as instructed, in line with Company standards and operational requirements.

Key Duties of a Shunter:

• To place trailers to the required areas as per instructions.
• To use two way radios to keep in contact with areas of the operation as necessary.
• To ensure you carry out all safety checks, as designated by the company.
• To ensure that you report defects, accident damage and any incidents as soon as they are found.
• To ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements.
• To ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel at all times.
• To always be professional and courteous when communicating with your colleagues.
• Reporting any breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub contractors to the transport department.
• Keeping vehicle parking area layouts as they should be and reporting any issues of debris to the site services team.
• Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping, in your areas of work, are maintained at all times.
• To ensure you are working in line with Health & Safety legislation.

Qualifications

• Confident Shunting with Terbergs in a fast paced environment.
• Previous shunting experience.
• Experience of working in a very fast paced environment.
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment.
• Self disciplined and motivated.
