Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd. is recruiting a Night Shift Yard Protection Operative for a busy rail depot in Selhurst. You will lead teams, safeguard personnel, and coordinate depot activities on a 21:45–04:45 Sunday–Saturday roster while ensuring high safety standards.

The role involves CTS operation, Safe Systems of Work briefing, and supervising train cleaning, servicing and maintenance, with emphasis on teamwork and reliability in a safety-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a safety-critical environment.
• Experience in railway, aviation, airports, engineering or similar industry.
• Supervisor/Team Leader experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate Controlled Track Switches (CTS) and contactor panel equipment to de-energise/re-energise 750V DC conductor rail.
• Lead and support depot teams to maintain a safe, clean, high-quality train environment.
• Coordinate day-to-day depot activities; ensure work is safe, efficient and to standard.
• Supervise depot activities, inspect trains and infrastructure, report defects and safety concerns.
• Act as Fire Precautions Manager and designated First Aider; participate in safety meetings and training.
• Communicate safety information effectively to the wider team.
