Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Limited is hiring a Day Shift Yard Protection Operative at Selhurst Depot. You will protect staff on trains and depot operations, working 07:45 to 14:45 on a Sunday-Saturday roster, on a 1-year initial contract, with a pay rate of £18.50–£26.83 per hour.

This safety-critical role involves operating CTS and panel equipment, briefing Safe Systems of Work, supervising depot activities and coordinating cleaning, servicing and maintenance while ensuring Health & Safety procedures

Qualifications

• Experience in safety-critical environments, ideally in rail, aviation, airports, or engineering.
• Previous supervisor or team-leader experience is desirable.
• Ability to follow safety procedures accurately and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate CTS and contactor panel equipment to de-energise/re-energise 750V DC rail in depot sidings.
• Set up and briefing Safe Systems of Work and supervise depot activities.
• Coordinate train cleaning, servicing and maintenance while monitoring quality.
• Lead and support staff, inspect trains and report safety concerns.
• Act as Fire Precautions Manager and First Aider as required.
