Job summary

InPost Distribution in Gateshead is seeking a Nights Warehouse Supervisor to lead a dedicated team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will drive productivity, quality, and safety in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

This role requires hands-on leadership, a valid forklift licence, and strong communication to coordinate workloads, manage rotas, and ensure on‑time deliveries for our UK network.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a fast-paced Warehouse/Distribution/Logistics environment.
• Valid Forklift Licence is required.
• Experience in a supervisory role, motivating and managing teams.
• Effective communication to give clear direction under pressure and work across teams.
• Calm and focused approach to prioritising daily tasks under pressure.
• Problem-solving skills grounded in practical decision-making for operational issues.
• Proficient computer skills, confident with Outlook/Excel; experience with warehouse/logistics systems desirable.
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate your team to ensure productivity targets are met and customer deadlines are achieved.
• Forecast and plan staffing requirements, including rota management and annual leave planning.
• Ensure labelling, sortation, and warehouse productivity targets are achieved with quality standards.
• Induct new staff and provide ongoing training to staff and contractors for effective performance.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations across the business.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully compliant warehouse environment focused on safety.
• Consistently follow company policies and uphold safety practices.
