Job summary

Yeo Valley Farms (Production) Ltd is seeking a Technical Operator for the Nights team at Newton Abbot. The role operates on a 4 days on / 4 days off pattern from 06:00 to 18:00, supporting complex production processes and instrumenting maintenance tasks to optimise asset use.

You will lead fault diagnosis, ensure food safety and product quality, and work to uphold hygiene standards while collaborating with engineers and the wider team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machine operator in a production environment.
• Able to undertake manual tasks with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine checks to validate and maintain equipment safety control systems.
• Escalate any food safety breach or quality issue and ensure defective product is held and resolved.
• Adhere to GMP, hygiene, PPE and dress code; promote Clean as You Go practices.
• Operate and optimise equipment to meet production demand and quality targets.
• Perform advanced fault finding and root‑cause analysis, escalating to engineering when needed.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
• Collaborate with the team and hand over effectively to share learnings.
• Maintain an energetic, proactive attitude to drive performance.
