Job summary

Irlam associates Group is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to lead our Sunderland warehouse night operations. You will supervise a team of ~10 shunters, ensuring picking and dispatch are safe, efficient and on time.

This permanent, full-time role runs 20:00–04:00, Sunday to Thursday, with a hands-on leadership style and a strong emphasis on health and safety compliance and smooth shift handovers.

Night Shift Supervisor

Salary: £38,000 per annum

An established transport and logistics business is looking for an experienced Night Shift Supervisor to join its warehouse operation in Sunderland.

This is a hands-on supervisory position with responsibility for overseeing the night shift operation, ensuring all picking and dispatch activity is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.

You will supervise a team of approximately 10 shunters per night, coordinating workload and ensuring the operation is prepared for the following day's transport activity.

About You:

We are looking for someone with previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution, transport or logistics environment.

You should be comfortable managing people in a fast-paced operation and taking ownership of the shift.

Experience within picking, dispatch, loading or warehouse operations would be particularly beneficial.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Night Shift Supervisor, Shift Manager or Team Leader.
• Experience managing warehouse or logistics operatives.
• A strong understanding of picking and dispatch operations.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to manage workloads and operational priorities.
• A hands-on approach to leadership.
• A strong awareness of health & safety within a warehouse environment.
