Job summary

Rokholt Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Sliding Head Setter Programmer to join a busy precision engineering workshop in Newcastle-under-Lyme on a night shift. The role involves operating and setting sliding head CNC lathes, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring high quality, tight tolerances.

You will carry out first-off checks, use micrometers and gauges, adjust tooling offsets, and collaborate with production and inspection teams.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment to inspect parts.
• Able to work to tight tolerances and maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate sliding head CNC machines.
• Set machines including tooling changes and offsets.
• Work from engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Produce precision-machined components to tight tolerances.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection checks.
• Use micrometers, verniers, gauges and callipers.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed.
• Check finished parts for quality and accuracy.
• Keep work areas clean, safe and organised.
