Job summary

Bupa's Wilmington Manor care home in Dartford is hiring a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care unit and support the nurse with clinical duties. The role involves supervising a team of Care Assistants, ensuring care plans are followed and records maintained, and building relationships with residents and families.

You will need NVQ3 in care (or be working towards it) and a compassionate, team-oriented approach, with a commitment to high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in care or equivalent, with support for completion.
• Motivated, positive, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in care settings and understanding of duties.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a care unit.
• Support nurse with clinical duties: observe, administer meds, review care plans, record-keeping.
• Lead and manage a team of Care Assistants, including shift handovers.
• Assist in training and supervising new staff.
• Build relationships with residents, families and GP/District Nurses.
• Assist residents with personal care duties.
