Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Operative/FLT Driver for the Bedford depot on a night shift. You will work 40 hours per week on a 5-out-of-7 rota, including weekends, in a temperature-controlled environment (4°C).

Roles include replenishment, loading orders, and general warehouse duties. A 10pm–6am schedule and shift allowances apply, with cold-store compensation and FLT licensing encouraged.

Qualifications

• Numerate and literate.
• Warehousing and distribution experience.
• Ability to work efficiently in a cold environment.
• Ability to work in a freezer environment; £1.24 ph premium.
• Counterbalance and/or VNA licence.

Responsibilities

• Accurate and systematic replenishment of picking fixtures.
• Accurate labelling / re-labelling of all bulk storage pallets.
• Adhering to stock rotational procedures.
• Transfer of bulk stock from goods inwards to correct areas.
• Accurate recording of stock movements onto systems or manual documents.
• Accurate assembly of customers' orders.
• Picking and loading goods onto cages/pallets safely.
• Adhering to stock rotational procedures.
• Performing duties within other warehouse functions.
• Accurate marking and storage of assembled orders awaiting dispatch.
• Loading of customer orders onto company vehicles.
• Distributing run-sheets, documentation and keys on completion of loading.
• Preparing vehicles prior to loading.
