Job summary

Ganymede Solutions is recruiting for a Night Shift Yard Protection Operative at the Selhurst Depot in Croydon. The role is safety-critical and focuses on protecting staff working on trains and within the depot.

You will lead and support teams, coordinate depot activities, and ensure high safety standards are followed, with CTS operations and supervision of train maintenance tasks. The position is 35 hours per week, Sunday to Saturday, 21:45–04:45, on a 1-year initial contract, paying

Qualifications

• Experience in safety-critical environments.
• Supervisory or team-leader background.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to perform physical work when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CTS and panel equipment to safely de-energise/re-energise rails.
• Lead and support depot teams to maintain a safe train environment.
• Coordinate day-to-day depot activities and safety briefings.
• Inspect trains and depot infrastructure; report defects.
• Act as Fire Precautions Manager and First Aider; support safety trainings.
