Job summary

DFDS A/S in Grimsby is looking for a Picking Supervisor to lead a night team of 3–8 operatives. You'll ensure orders are picked accurately, on time, and documented before dispatch, while maintaining stock integrity in a chilled warehouse environment (0–4°C).

You’ll develop the team, monitor performance, plan labour, conduct onboarding and appraisals, and work closely with warehouse systems to improve accuracy and service levels within a multinational logistics setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, order picking or supervisory role.
• Knowledge of Oracle systems and chilled warehouse operations advantageous.
• Forklift and Powered Pallet Truck licences welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervising, supporting, and developing the night picking team to achieve operational and customer service targets
• Ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, completed on time, and checked against documentation before dispatch
• Monitoring picking performance, identifying root causes of errors, and implementing corrective actions to improve accuracy
• Managing stock checks, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring warehouse systems accurately reflect physical stock
• Generating dispatch documentation, pick sheets, and supporting the setup of the following day's operation
• Planning labour resources to maintain productivity and hygiene standards within the department
• Conducting onboarding, training, appraisals, and performance reviews while supporting wider warehouse activities when required
