Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking a Pattern Shop Machinist to join our Manufacturing team, responsible for machining patterns, jigs and carbon components for race car development. You will work with advanced 5-axis machining centres and collaborate across Manufacturing and Technical departments to hit tight deadlines.

The role operates on a night shift, Monday to Thursday, 18:15 to 04:45, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a high-performance

Qualifications

• A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience.
• Experience operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• A strong understanding of engineering materials and machining processes.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and machine patterns, jigs and carbon components to engineering drawings.
• Operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centres and optimise their performance.
• Carry out self-inspection to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and technical teams to resolve machining issues.
• Maintain accurate work orders and production data.
• Support smooth shift handovers and continuous workflow.
• Suggest improvements to quality, efficiency and manufacturing performance.
