Job summary

SER-IN is recruiting for a Manual Turner/Setter Operator to join the night shift at our Ashton-under-Lyne site. The role involves setting and operating manual turning machines to manufacture medium to heavy engineering components from customer drawings and specifications.

The successful candidate will work in a heavy engineering environment with lifting capabilities up to 60 tonnes, and there is a night shift premium. Overtime opportunities are available to enhance earnings.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating manual turning machines.
• Experience in heavy engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating manual turning machines on the night shift.
• Manufacturing medium to heavy engineering components from customer drawings and specifications.
• Working with large fabrications, castings, and complex engineering components.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately.
• Selecting appropriate tooling, cutting conditions, and machining methods.
• Carrying out accurate self-inspection using manual measuring equipment.
• Ensuring all components meet required quality standards and customer specifications.
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
• Supporting production requirements and completing overtime when required.
