Job summary

Evri is seeking an experienced Night Shift Manager to lead the Barnsley Hub during the Night Shift, guiding a busy parcel operation through peak periods. You will own people, performance, safety, service and cost, directing Supervisors and Team Leaders to keep parcels flowing and meet tight deadlines.

You will drive productivity, monitor KPIs, and ensure high service levels while managing costs and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day performance of your designated operational area on the Night Shift.

• Plan resource allocation to meet changing parcel volumes.
• Drive productivity and service while controlling costs and improving efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs and maintain service levels for customers and clients.
• Manage operational costs and demonstrate financial awareness across your area.
• Support health & safety audits and risk assessments.
• Reduce damages and claims by identifying root causes and improving operational processes.
• Take ownership of Health & Safety, quality and hygiene standards through audits, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Support operational and Peak planning, preparing your area for changing forecasts and periods of increased volume.
• Work closely with other operational teams to maintain flow across the wider Hub.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and service.
• Build a culture where colleagues feel supported, accountable and motivated to deliver.

Shift: Night Shift 10:00pm to 6:00am
Salary: £38,700 £41,000 + Benefits
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until the end of December 2026

We're looking for an experienced Night Shift Manager to join our Barnsley Hub on the Night Shift, leading a key area of our fast-paced parcel operation through one of the busiest periods of the year.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role where you'll take ownership of people, performance, safety, service and cost across your area.

You'll lead through your Supervisors and Team Leaders, making sure the right people are in the right place, parcels continue to flow efficiently through the operation and performance remains on track against changing volumes and tight deadlines.

If you've led teams within warehousing, logistics, distribution, parcels, manufacturing or another high-volume operational environment, and you're comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving operation, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced operational leader who is confident managing people and performance in a busy, time-critical environment.

You'll ideally bring:

• Previous management experience within warehouse, logistics, distribution, parcel, manufacturing or another high-volume operation.
• Experience leading and developing operational teams through Supervisors and/or Team Leaders.
• A strong track record of delivering against productivity, service, quality and cost KPIs.
• Experience with workforce and resource planning against changing operational demand.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness and experience maintaining safe operational standards.
• The confidence to make decisions and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A data-driven approach with the ability to understand performance and turn insight into action.
• Good Maths, English and IT skills, with confidence using operational systems and performance data.
• A full UK driving licence.
• A genuine focus on continuous improvement, customer service and operational excellence.
