Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is recruiting a Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor for Whatley Quarry in Somerset. You will lead a skilled engineering team, drive safety, reliability and performance, and decide on key maintenance actions within a fast-paced, highly automated site.

The role demands a proven maintenance leader with a track record in mechanical/electrical maintenance, relevant NVQs and engineering qualifications. Excellent benefits and career progression accompany the opportunity.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical engineering experience and track record in maintenance leadership.
• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in maintenance engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in a maintenance engineering environment.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and IT skills (MS Office).
• Ability to lead teams, coordinate contractors and prioritise workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead all maintenance activities during the night shift.
• Ensure safe systems of work, permits and risk assessments are followed.
• Manage and coordinate engineering and maintenance contractors on site.
• Support and develop the on-site TPM team.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and 5S.
• Maximise plant availability and improve OEE.
• Reduce MTTR and MTBF across plant assets.
• Ensure compliance with standards, legislation and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with production teams to hit targets and performance goals.
