Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK, located at Whatley Quarry in Somerset, is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled engineering team during night operations. You will drive safety, reliability and plant performance, balancing maintenance planning with proactive improvements in a fast-paced, highly automated environment.

With responsibility for both mechanical and electrical maintenance, you will coordinate contractors, support production and push for world-class uptime.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical engineering experience and safety-focused leadership.
• Experience leading maintenance teams in automated manufacturing environments.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead all maintenance activities during the night shift.
• Ensure safe systems of work, permits and risk assessments are followed.
• Coordinate contractors and support production teams.
• Develop on-site TPM team and drive continuous improvement.
• Improve equipment reliability and site performance (OEE).
• Drive Lean, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies.
