Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an Engineer based at our Doncaster site in South Yorkshire to deliver maintenance, repair and reliability activities. You will work within the engineering team to keep machinery safe and efficient through reactive, corrective and planned maintenance.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in a similar engineering position within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential. Night shifts and site duties are involved.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 4-year approved technical training programme.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance.
• At least 5 years experience in a similar engineering role.
• Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out engineering repairs, corrective maintenance and planned preventive maintenance across the site.
• Complete tasks generated from audits, work requests and PPM follow-ups.
• Ensure machinery and equipment meet site standards and escalate issues as needed.
• Manage personal workload and complete scheduled tasks to required standards.
• Ensure effective handover of outstanding work between shifts.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping across all engineering work areas.
• Apply Health and Safety and Food Safety standards to all work undertaken.
• Manage Health and Safety compliance of external contractors and ensure work areas are left safe.
• Support environmental compliance requirements.
• Support colleagues and contribute to KPIs and performance targets.
• Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding breakdowns and activities.
• Challenge issues constructively and professionally.
• Control and manage spare parts ordering to ensure stock levels.
• Maintain records and uphold site standards for engineering assets.
