Job summary

Randox is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for night shifts in Warrington. You will be involved in receipt, accession, and analysis of diverse samples, with strict adherence to chain of custody and quality controls.

This permanent, full-time role operates on a 4-on, 4-off pattern from 7pm to 7am. Responsibilities include operating haematology, urinalysis, and ESR analyzers, maintaining stock and sample storage, and ensuring accurate data entry in LIMS.

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least A level or equivalent in a science subject.
• Available to work the night shifts mentioned above.
• Ability to work as a team member of a cross-functional team.
• Strong attention to detail skills.
• Be computer literate.
• Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, or a life science.
• Previous laboratory experience.
• Previous experience with quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Routine use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Receipt and accession of samples for analysis.
• Specimen analysis, storage, and disposal.
• Maintenance of sample inventory.
• Adherence to chain of custody procedures.
• Operation and maintenance of SYSMEX XS-1000i Haematology, Urinalysis and ESR analysers.
• Maintaining external quality control (EQA) schemes for urine dipstick, urine chemistries and full blood count.
• Stock control and removal of expired products.
• Prepare specimens for transport to analytical labs.
• Record and monitor temperatures of laboratory equipment.
