Job summary

Gap Personnel, acting as an employment business, are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Hygiene Manager in the Knowsley area. The position is permanent and part of the site leadership team.

You will oversee health, safety, quality and food safety procedures, manage chemicals and equipment, lead the Hygiene team, plan staffing, training, and audits (BRC and customer), and control the hygiene budget. Hours are 10 pm–6 am, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £40,382 per annum.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to challenge others in a professional and constructive manner.
• Knowledge of chemicals and machinery used in the clean-down process.
• Understanding of Environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site health, safety, quality, and food safety procedures.
• Lead Hygiene team and manage staffing and development.
• Manage hygiene budget and approvals, including procurement and spend control.
• Coordinate with Engineering and suppliers; ensure audit readiness and documentation.
• Develop cleaning schedules and SOPs; maintain training and compliance.
