Job summary

Central Employment in South Tyneside seeks a Night Shift Hygiene Manager to oversee all hygiene and sanitation on the 10pm–6am shift. Lead a dedicated night team and drive high food safety and hygiene standards in a fast‑paced production environment.

You will manage microbiology, environmental monitoring, chemical stocks and ensure compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, COSHH and retailer requirements, delivering audit‑ready operations daily. The role offers growth within a well‑established business.

Qualifications

• Experience as Hygiene Manager or Senior Hygiene Supervisor in food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, COSHH and food safety legislation.
• Experience designing hygiene/cleaning schedules.
• Microbiology and swabbing experience.
• Ability to lead night shift team.

Responsibilities

• Leading night shift hygiene operations across the site.
• Creating and managing detailed hygiene and cleaning rotas.
• Conducting microbiological and environmental swabbing.
• Managing chemical stock, usage, cost control and supplier relationships.
• Ensuring compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, COSHH and food safety standards.
• Maintaining hygiene documentation, SOPs and audit readiness.
• Supervising the hygiene team and delivering training.
• Ensuring correct PPE usage and stock levels.
