Job summary

MAN Truck & Bus in Preston is recruiting a Night Shift Technician for a full-time permanent role. You will interpret repair instructions, attend training, and record work and tests, while maintaining tools and workspace.

The role requires an apprenticeship, hands-on HGV experience, and fluent English, with a valid work permit. You will protect customers and company property, report any faults, and perform duties in a neat, timely manner.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship completed is required.
• Experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Valid work permit is required.
• Computer skills are essential.
• Strong knowledge of the truck industry is essential.
• Fluent English is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret instructions from the job card/repair order and comply with repair instructions and tolerances from manuals.
• Attend training and keep up to date with technical information.
• Accurately report and record work done and tests carried out and report faults.
• Protect and maintain tools and equipment and return them after use.
• Report loss, shortage, damage or additional tools required to complete repairs.
• Protect customers and company property.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas and remove scrap after repairs.
• Provide information and keep records accurately.
• Undertake other tasks as reasonably required.
• Enhance the company image while supporting commercial interests.
• Comply with health and safety and company policies.
