MAN Truck & Bus UK is seeking a qualified HGV Night Shift Technician for a full-time permanent role in Preston. You will interpret repair orders, attend training, and accurately report work while maintaining tools and workplace standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret instructions from the job card/repair order and comply with repair instructions and tolerances from manuals, bulletins and check sheets.
• Attend training and keep up-to-date with the latest technical information circulated or displayed.
• Accurately report and record work done and tests, and raise any additional work or faults.
• Protect and maintain tools and equipment and return them after use.
• Report any loss, shortage, damage or malfunction of tools and request additional tools as needed.
• Protect customers and the company’s property.
• Keep allocated work areas clean and tidy and dispose of scrap after each repair.
• Provide information and carry out duties accurately and efficiently.
• Undertake other tasks as reasonably required.
• Enhance the company’s image and reputation while supporting commercial interests.
• Comply with health and safety, statutory requirements, company policies and procedures.

Are you a qualified HGV Technician looking for a new opportunity for one of the big six truck manufacturers in the UK?

Do you have previous experience of working with HGVs, ideally in a workshop environment?

We are recruiting for a Night Shift Technician to join our team in Preston on a full time permanent basis.

In this role you will:

• Interpret instructions from the job card/repair order and to comply with repair instructions and stipulated settings and tolerances from manufacturers manuals, bulletins, check sheets etc.


• Attend training and to keep abreast of the latest technical information which is circulated or displayed.


• Accurately report and record work done and tests carried out and to immediately report any further work required or vehicle faults.


• Protect and maintain all tools and equipment by only using them in the prescribed manner and returning them to their place of storage immediately after use.


• Immediately report any loss, shortage, damage or malfunction of tools and equipment or if any additional tools or equipment are required to complete the repair.


• Protect and take care of customers and the company’s property.


• Maintain allocated work areas in a clean and tidy condition and to remove all scrap etc. immediately upon completion of each repair.


• Provide information, maintain records and carry out all duties in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.


• Undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required


• Enhance the image and reputation of the company whilst supporting its commercial interests


• Comply with good health and safety practice, all statutory requirements, company policies and standard procedures

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Apprenticeship completed


• Experience in a similar role
