Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a night shift in the Blaydon workshop. The role involves maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers, with inspections and final checks on completion.

The permanent position offers a four-night week, training and professional development opportunities, and significant autonomy in day-to-day responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Time-served HGV Technician or NVQ Level 3 preferred (City & Guilds acceptable).
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining trucks and components.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills; own tools preferred; valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing on trucks and trailers.
• Fast and accurate diagnostics and fault finding using diagnostic tools.
• Mechanical and electrical repairs, working independently.
• Vehicle inspections and compliance checks (MOT, tachograph, etc.).
• Final checks on completed work.
