Job summary

Vibe Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV Service Technician to join a well‑established commercial vehicle service operation in Cardiff, on a permanent night shift. The role emphasizes servicing, diagnostics and repairs to manufacturer standards, with ongoing training opportunities.

The ideal candidate will hold NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and have post‑apprenticeship experience; main dealer experience is highly desirable and a Class 1/2 licence or IRTEC accreditation

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Minimum of one year's experience following completion of an apprenticeship.
• Previous HGV servicing, diagnostics and repair experience.
• Main dealer experience is highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and fault finding abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous.
• IRTEC accreditation would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and technical faults efficiently.
• Complete routine inspections, preventative maintenance and safety checks.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within manufacturer guidelines.
• Accurately document all servicing, repairs, diagnostics and safety inspections.
• Support colleagues with technical issues and contribute to an efficient workshop environment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and workshop procedures.
• Maintain excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.
