Job summary

Lanes Group in Crossness (Abbey Wood) is seeking a HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer for permanent night shifts. You will drive in two‑person teams, operate high‑pressure jetting equipment, inspect and repair drains, and deliver first‑class customer service while adhering to health and safety standards.

The role includes on‑call rota, 40.25 hours, training provided, and benefits such as health plan and pension; CPC and digi tachograph card preferred, HGV2 licence required.

Qualifications

• Minimum HGV Class 2 licence with CPC and digi tachograph.
• Ability to work outdoors, in all weather, and to follow safety procedures.
• Experience with high‑pressure jetting is useful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential sites in a two‑person team to perform drainage works with high‑pressure jetting.
• Clean, inspect and maintain drainage systems and record reports on equipment.
• Run diagnostics, perform repairs and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure vehicle stock is full and managed safely and on time.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and use PPE correctly.
• Liaise with clients and colleagues and complete risk assessments as required.
• Operate JHL vacuum tankers and related equipment.
