Job summary

Great Bear, part of Culina Group, is hiring experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for Desborough to support deliveries for key customers, including a leading international confectionery manufacturer. This permanent, full-time role operates 24/7 with palletised goods to National Distribution Centres.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday Nights. Pay: £20 per hour, overtime +30%. We offer extensive development and benefits as part of a diverse logistics team.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence and HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• DCPC and Tachograph cards are current and valid.
• Good understanding of Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• No more than 6 points on licence and no DD/DR convictions.
• On-site health and safety compliance and reporting.
• Excellent communication and professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, often as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional driver tipping or multi-drop deliveries as required by demand.
• Night shifts may be required; occasional night out.
• Report delays or load discrepancies to Transport team at shift start.
• Complete all paperwork and return PODs to Transport Office.
• Follow tachograph rules and driving hours compliance.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain unit and trailer condition, including temperature checks when needed.
