Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is hiring experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for the Oldham site to support our night operation. This is a permanent, full-time role within a 24/7 operation delivering to Regional Distribution Centres nationwide.

Shifts include average 12-hour nights with start times between 14:00 and 18:00. You will perform safe deliveries, paperwork, and adhere to tachograph rules while maintaining professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Minimum 12 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points on licence; no DD or DR convictions.
• Current valid DCPC and Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres.
• Report delays or issues to Transport team at shift start.
• Complete paperwork accurately; ensure PODs are signed.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Take responsibility for unit and trailer; temperature checks when required.
• Maintain high standard of customer service.
