Job summary

G's Group is seeking a hands-on Night Shift Engineering Team Leader to guide and support a team of engineers during the night shift. You will drive equipment reliability, oversee maintenance activities and rapid breakdown responses, and act as the senior engineering presence on shift.

You will lead by example, promoting continuous improvement, health and safety, and effective communication across production and management during night operations.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent).
• Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG or food production environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with CMMS and engineering record management.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the night shift engineering team.
• Provide hands-on support, maintaining and repairing production equipment.
• Coordinate and prioritise maintenance activities and breakdown responses.
• Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Drive planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment uptime.
• Support continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records within the CMMS system.
• Promote health, safety and compliance on shift.
• Act as key engineering contact for production and factory management during night operations.
• Support introduction of new equipment and improvements across the site.
