Job summary

Equals One Ltd in Harrogate is seeking a Driver and Dispatch Manager to lead our day-to-day delivery operation, supervise drivers and manage a fleet of eight vans.

This is a hands-on role requiring packing, driving, dispatch, and team leadership to keep orders prepared, loaded, and dispatched on time. You will coordinate routes, supervise drivers, and ensure vehicles are well-maintained while staying active in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within transport, delivery, distribution or logistics.
• Experience supervising or leading drivers or an operational team.
• Experience coordinating delivery routes, schedules or dispatch operations.
• Experience looking after vehicles or a small fleet.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Pack products during the first 2-3 hours of each shift.
• Prepare and dispatch orders.
• Coordinate daily delivery schedules and dispatch drivers.
• Regularly complete delivery routes yourself.
• Supervise and support the driver team on a day-to-day basis.
• Plan routes and allocate drivers and vehicles.
• Respond to delivery, staffing or transport issues quickly.
• Monitor driver performance using vehicle tracking information.
• Onboard and train new drivers.
• Maintain delivery, vehicle and operational records.
• Liaise with customers regarding deliveries and service updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve routes, processes and efficiency.
• Coordinate servicing, MOTs, repairs and maintenance for the fleet.
• Carry out regular vehicle checks.
• Ensure vehicles remain safe and compliant.
• Monitor mileage, fuel usage and vehicle performance.
• Maintain insurance, tax and maintenance documentation.
