Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Doncaster is seeking an experienced Transport First Line Manager to lead daily transport activities, ensure compliance, and support a high-performing team.

This permanent, full-time role on a 4 on, 4 off night shift offers opportunities to drive continuous improvement, supervise drivers and clerical staff, and coordinate with warehouse operations for smooth deliveries.

Qualifications

• Proven people management experience within a transport environment.
• Experience in transport office or wider supply chain operation.
• Experience working in a unionised environment and building positive relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Tachomaster experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence
• Ensure drivers are legal and compliant on a daily and weekly basis and ensure clear communication between all functions within the transport department and the warehouse team
• To lead the work activities of the drivers and the transport clerical team, providing effective leadership, communication, motivation, training and development
• Carrying out HR Management tasks such as staff reviews, appraisals, absence management and disciplinaries
